No consulta bases de datos externas ni comprueba que la fuente exista en el mundo real. Revisa la coherencia interna del documento. Es una herramienta distinta y complementaria de las que validan la existencia de cada referencia.It does not query external databases or check whether a source exists in the real world. It checks the document's internal consistency. It is a different, complementary tool to those that validate whether each reference is real.

BiblioCrossing looks for a short heading — four words or fewer, no parentheses, no years — and recognises more than thirty variants in Spanish and English:

Además tolera erratas de digitación: «Refrencias» o «Bibliogafía» se reconocen igual. La primera letra sí debe ser correcta, para que una palabra parecida como «Diferencia» —habitual como encabezado de columna en una tabla— no se confunda con «Referencia».It also tolerates typos: "Refrencias" or "Bibliogafía" are still recognised. The first letter must be right, so that a similar word like "Diferencia" — common as a table column header in Spanish — is not mistaken for "Referencia".
Si el documento tiene varios candidatos, se elige aquel cuyo texto siguiente de verdad parece una lista de referencias, midiendo qué proporción de sus líneas son entradas bibliográficas completas.When a document has several candidates, the one whose following text actually looks like a reference list wins, measured by what share of its lines parse as complete bibliographic entries.
⚠️Si el aviso dice que no se detectó la sección, revise que el encabezado exista y esté en su propia línea. No hace falta que tenga estilo de título en Word.If the notice says no section was detected, check that the heading exists and sits on its own line. It does not need to use a Word heading style.

Interpretar los resultadosReading the results
Cada fila de la tabla lleva una etiqueta. Las cuatro primeras son errores que corregir; las cuatro últimas son avisos que no siempre implican un error.Every row in the table carries a label. The first four are errors to fix; the last four are notices that do not always mean something is wrong.

Cita sin referenciaCitation without reference
La cita aparece en el texto y no hay entrada en la lista. Suele faltar la referencia, o el apellido está escrito distinto en un sitio y otro.The citation appears in the text with no entry in the list. Usually the reference is missing, or the surname is spelled differently in the two places.
Referencia no citadaUncited reference
La entrada está en la lista pero nunca se cita. O se cita en una tabla o pie de figura que no se detectó, o sobra en la lista.The entry is in the list but never cited. Either it is cited in a table or figure caption that was not detected, or it does not belong in the list.
Posible coincidenciaPossible match
Hay una cita y una referencia del mismo autor con año distinto — por ejemplo Ramírez (2019) en el texto y Ramírez (2020) en la lista. Casi siempre es una errata en uno de los dos lados. La fila nombra la contraparte para que compare.A citation and a reference by the same author with a different year — Ramírez (2019) in the text and Ramírez (2020) in the list. Almost always a typo on one of the two sides. The row names the counterpart so you can compare.
Referencia duplicadaDuplicate reference
La misma entrada aparece dos veces. Si son obras distintas del mismo autor y año, APA 7 pide diferenciarlas con sufijo de letra: 2020a, 2020b.The same entry appears twice. If they are different works by the same author and year, APA 7 requires letter suffixes: 2020a, 2020b.

Leyes, decretos, reglamentos y obras clásicas. En APA 7 usan un formato de referencia distinto y no se cruzan por apellido y año. Revíselas usted.Laws, decrees, regulations and classical works. APA 7 gives them a different reference format, so they are not matched by surname and year. Check them yourself.
📋Copiar la clave. Junto a cada clave hay un botón de copiar. Al pulsarlo se copia el texto —por ejemplo Pérez, 2020— para pegarlo en el buscador de Word y localizar esa cita dentro del manuscrito. Confirma con una marca verde. Se alcanza también con el teclado, y si el navegador bloquea el portapapeles la clave queda seleccionada para copiarla con Ctrl+C.Copying the key. Next to every key there is a copy button. Pressing it copies the text — Pérez, 2020, for example — so you can paste it into Word's search box and find that citation inside the manuscript. It confirms with a green check. It is reachable by keyboard too, and if the browser blocks clipboard access the key is selected instead so you can copy it with Ctrl+C.
💡Las citas secundarias se resuelven solas. Por ejemplo, en (Ayala, 1983, como se citó en Sánchez, 2009) la que debe estar en la lista es Sánchez, no Ayala. BiblioCrossing cruza la fuente citante e ignora la original, como pide APA 7.Secondary citations resolve on their own. For example, in (Ayala, 1983, as cited in Sánchez, 2009) the work that belongs in the list is Sánchez, not Ayala. BiblioCrossing cross-checks the citing source and leaves the original alone, as APA 7 requires.
